Living the Marvel Fan’s Dream – Students Win Thor: The Dark World Photo Competition
Who doesn’t like a dress up? We certainly do! Our Cardiff Comic Con Cosplay gallery shows Cosplay is in, but what if Marvel noticed? What if your Cosplay costume got you tickets to the Thor: The Dark World red carpet premiere?
Well that’s exactly what happened for four lucky student’s from Kaplan International College. Hundreds of the college’s students from all over the world entered Marvel’s Thor Photo Competition and dressed up as the God of Thunder.
The four winner’s beat thousands of other entrants and got the chance to attend the UK premiere of the highly enjoyable Thor: The Dark World. Ernano Molino from Italy; Rafael Fraga and Dalila Simila from Brazil; and Maria Fernanda Rivera, from Venezuela got to walk the red carpet the Odeon Leicester Square in London and watch Marvel’s latest with the cast.
The competition entrants had to put on their best Battle Armor and wield Mjolnir in their best action poses in a variety of locations. Judges chose Ernano Molino’s photo, taken outside the amazing scenery of the University of Cambridge, because of it’s “energy and vibrancy.”
Ernano said “I’m a huge fan of Marvel films so I was totally speechless when I found out that I won! It was so much fun dressing up as Thor with my friends but I never expected to actually win. Traveling from Cambridge to London in a limousine, walking on the red carpet and seeing the stars of the film was the experience of a lifetime.”
From playing Thor to having the ‘experience of a lifetime’ sounds like a good day to me.
