True Blood Season 6 Finale **Spoilers**
So True blood season 6 has come to an end and yes we all feel robbed that we had two whole episodes taken from us. A mere 10 episodes feel hardly time to satisfy the true blood craving we’ve endured since the last season ended.
This season saw the crazed Mayor of Louisiana taking advantage of the destruction of the True Blood factories in season 5. Taking it upon himself to manufacture True Blood with a deadly added ingredient (Hep V) which is set to destroy the vampire race, ultimately costing him the life of his daughter as well as his head.
God loving Sarah Newlin tried to hide the Mayor’s death; had the bitch fight of the series and almost caused the death of our favourite characters yet she is still breathing, I can’t help but wish Jason had killed her. I’m sure we’ll see her again in the future.
In other major news Warlow is dead and Sookie escaped with her humanity intact. I can’t help but wonder what can cure the vampires infected with Hep V now Warlow is dead as it was suspected only his blood could cure it. Will Sookie have to use her Fae blood? What will that mean for poor Andy Bellefleur’s last remaining Fae daughter?
Season 6 also saw the loss of Terry Bellefleur who arranged his own death and left a fortune for ‘poor’ Arlene. As always we’ve been left with a few unanswered questions and it’s unlikely they will be satisfied in the fist episode of season 7.
The biggest question on my lips is ‘OMG is Eric dead?!’ Only Eric would sunbathe on a snowy mountaintop with no shelter from the sun. On the plus side we got a full frontal naked shot of Eric before he burst into flames.
One thing we do know is that True Blood’s show-runner Brian Buckner has confirmed Eric will be back for season 7 however in what state we are yet to find out. “Well, I did not confirm that he’s alive. Not that I want to create more conversation, because I don’t, but to be clear, we’re not saying how we’re going to use him, we’re simply saying that we are using him,” Buckner told EW. “I will say that I do long for the days when television audiences could stand to wait and enjoy the tease. But I understand we’re living in a different time. I don’t want to watch a show without him either.” Lets hope they don’t make a ghost out of him like they did to our other favourite blonde vampire- Spike.
Skip to 6 months later and Sam’s Mayor, Merlotte’s is no longer and Sookie is loved up with Alcide. Not to mention Jason seems to be subject to a lifetime of Oral sex…not in his favour might I add. Bill is now an author and has offered Sookie his protection against the vampires infected with Hep V.
The next series is set up with Bon Temps being flooded with infected ‘zombie vampires’… and the questions keep coming. One thing is for sure – we have another long wait for season 7 lets hope we get the 12 episodes we deserve!
